Dr. Kidd's next course:

Introduction to Neural Therapy

When: November 12-13, 2010

Where: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

WHAT IS NEURAL THERAPY?

Neural therapy is a system of diagnosing and treating local disturbances of the autonomic nervous system. In German and Spanish speaking countries it is considered a part of conventional medicine, even as it is virtually unknown in the English-speaking world.

Central to the theory of neural therapy is the concept of the "interference field". An interference field is a focus of electrophysiological instability somewhere in the body that destabilizes or blocks autonomic nervous system function - locally or systemically. Typical locations for interference fields are scars, teeth, internal organs, autonomic ganglia, nerve roots, or any place where there is (or has been) an injury or irritation. Somatic dysfunction is a type of interference field and can be treated equally effectively by neural therapy as by manipulation.

The classical neural therapy treatment is injections of dilute procaine into the interference field. Procaine acts as a membrane stabilizer, in a similar way to lidocaine in treating ventricular arrhythmias. Any medical condition that has an autonomic nervous system component may potentially be caused by an interference field. Examples include migraine, facial pain, backache and various forms of myofascial pain syndrome, as well as asthma, indigestion, bowel dysfunction, menstrual problems, irritable bladder, etc. Interference fields are very common and the conditions that they cause are mostly untreated in mainstream medicine except by drugs, merely suppressing symptoms.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

This course is for physicians who:

  • have inquiring minds
  • have an interest in autonomic nervous system physiology
  • are interested in an entirely new way of diagnosing and treating their patients.
  • treat pain of syndromes of all kinds
  • wish to reduce their prescription of drugs

An understanding of somatic dysfunction and an ability to manipulate is an advantage, but not essential to profiting from this course.

ROBERT KIDD MD,CM.

Robert Kidd is in private practice in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada. He is well known in orthopaedic medicine circles and attracts difficult to treat patients from all over North America. He is a past president of both the Canadian and American Associations of Orthopaedic Medicine and has been active for many years practicing, teaching, researching and writing about orthopaedic medicine and neural therapy.

The emphasis of his practice is diagnosis, applying his knowledge of anatomy, mechanics, physiology, nutrition, psychosomatics and energetics to sort out cases that have failed to respond to conventional medical approaches. His therapeutic tools include manipulation, cranial osteopathy, neural therapy, prolotherapy, nutrition and toxicology.

Dr. Kidd has incorporated neural therapy into an already eclectic practice. He has found that interference fields are common and that their treatment is frequently the key to successful resolution of many difficult cases.

Dr. Kidd is the author of the text "Neural therapy: Applied neurophysiology and other topics" and has published numerous articles on orthopaedic medicine, neural therapy and other medical subjects in the peer reviewed literature

GOALS OF THIS COURSE:

  1. To heighten the course participants' understanding of the role of the autonomic nervous system in health and disease.
  2. To understand the concept of the "interference field".
  3. To learn how to detect interference fields.
  4. To learn how to inject scars, teeth, and nerves and to do "segmental therapy" injections.
  5. How to use the Tenscam device
  6. To understand and treat conditions that impair autonomic nervous system function as a whole.
  7. To equip the participant to apply this knowledge on the very next day of practice.
